The nurse received this recognition thanks to HEPARJOC-ACTUA, an educational tool to improve the diagnosis of Hepatitis B.

Hakima Ouaarab, a nurse at the Drassanes-Vall d'Hebron Centre for International Health and Transmissible Diseases, and a researcher forming part of the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute Infectious Diseases group, has won a Nursing in Development Award in the Shared Initiatives category.

The awards, organised by the Nursing in Development magazine, edited by Fuden (the Foundation for the Development of Nursing), aim to provide support to nurses and physiotherapists who work towards the development of their professions.

Hakima Ouaarab received this Nursing in Development Award thanks to HEPARJOC-ACTUA, an educational tool to improve the diagnosis of Hepatitis B among vulnerable immigrants. HEPARJOC comprises five educational games that improve knowledge about hepatitis and raise awareness about the need to screen for the disease.
