This is Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus’ digital space, which can be accessed through the website or mobile application. The purpose of this legal notice is to regulate its usage conditions. Through this:
1. We aim to provide quality information of interest about the organisation and its activity.
In compliance with Spanish Law 34/2002 of 11th July on Information Society and E-commerce, we here give notice that the details of the owner of this website are: Fundació Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron - Institut de Recerca (“VHIR”), tax ID (NIF) G-60.594.009 and address Passeig Vall d’Hebron 119-129, Edifici Mediterrània 2ª Planta, 08035, Barcelona, Spain. It is entered in the Register of Foundations of the Justice Department of the Generalitat of Catalonia under number 808. The VHIR is the owner, in its capacity as “manager” of the research, technological development and training activities carried out at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital. To contact us, you can visit us in person or use the email address web@vhebron.net.
2. Access is open and free.
You do not need to fill in an application form to browse this website. By accessing and using this website you accept the general conditions of use of this legal notice.
3. Our restricted area is called My Vall d’Hebron and is for patients and their families to access a service to provide information about the progress of a procedure.
There is a restricted area, called My Vall d’Hebron, that can only be accessed following registration. At the time of registration you will receive a personal and non-transferable password, which you are responsible for and through which you commit to making proper use of the service and maintaining confidentiality.
If you are a patient awaiting surgery you will have to register in person at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital.
Close friends or family members who wish to register will have to ask the patient to invite them to join the service. They will receive a personal and non-transferable access code. To register, you will have to provide the information requested, which should be:
- true, accurate and complete in relation to identity
- users agree to update their details so they are always correct
If this does not happen, or information is suspected to be false, the institution has the right to cancel the account and deny access to the website now and in the future. The institution also reserves the right to do the same for users it considers inactive.
The user has the right to cancel and deactivate their registration at any time. This function is available within the restricted area.
4. Privacy and personal data protection is a priority for us.
We guarantee the confidentiality of personal data provided to us through our web pages. This data will be processed in line with European data protection regulations, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), implementing the security measures necessary and adequate for the type of personal data. Only data that is strictly necessary, appropriate and relevant to the purpose for which is it is collected will be requested.

- Managing your relationship with the four institutions that make up the Campus: Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology and the Multiple Sclerosis Centre of Catalonia.
The categories of data collected are: name and surname(s); email address; telephone number; postal address; personal ID number; bank details; forms of collaboration; date of birth; tax number; occupation; reason for consultation.
The lawful basis for processing the data is the provision of the requested services and, where applicable, the consent given. No automated decision-making will be performed on the personal data processed.
Personal data will be processed only for as long as necessary, useful and relevant for the purposes indicated and will subsequently be deleted.

Your data will only be available to professionals from Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and under no circumstances will it be made available to third parties without prior consent, except for data requested by a Judge, Public Prosecutor or any public body authorised to request it under European data protection regulations, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR). Through our communications, which we send through third-party email platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics and MailChimp, we aim to keep you informed about our activities.

The VHIR is the owner of the intellectual property rights of the content, work and services on this website, or the corresponding rights have been transferred to VHIR. This includes the graphic design and programming of the website, as well as the texts, archive images, logos, trademarks, design, interface, source code, recordings and any other elements it contains. The reproduction, distribution, public communication or transformation of this work and services outside the scope of the activities directly authorised by intellectual property law requires the owner’s authorisation.
