We have chosen values and principles that drive us towards improving people’s health and well-being
At Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus we are united by a shared spirit of innovation and excellence with a common goal: to improve people’s health and well-being. We join forces to make ourselves larger, more useful, more productive and even more effective. We want to be a leading healthcare campus worldwide. We believe we have all the ingredients to do so. That is why we have established some principles to help us achieve this goal.
People
at the centre
People are the reason we exist, and the patient is always at the centre of hospital campus activity. We want to contribute to society doing what we know best: providing integrated healthcare and driving advances in medicine. At the same time, the Campus also trains people. Our professionals and their daily commitment and dedication to patients are what make our principles credible.

Innovation
We promote innovation at all levels. In terms of hospital practice, we identify needs using a multifaceted approach to health and the multidisciplinary transfer of knowledge and experience. In terms of research, as a driver of new treatments and diagnostic methods. The result is projects that improve patient care and quality of life, reaching out beyond the campus walls.

Excellence
The Campus is the combination of four outstanding institutions in the field of biohealth, each specialising in a field of expertise, with professionals of recognised international prestige. We aspire to be recognised by the public, professionals and the field as an innovative organisation in all lines of activity, that stands out for the quality of its actions, that generates and expands useful knowledge and that contributes to the sustainable development of the healthcare system.

Knowledge
We generate, transform and transmit knowledge in all areas of the health sciences. We research new techniques, apply the most recent knowledge and understand teaching to be a key part of the healthcare system. For us, training has to be aimed at improving healthcare and its quality, and we want to contribute to training professionals who are committed to society.
