Discover why a residency at Vall d’Hebron is the best choice for your specialised training. It is one of the hospitals that attracts the highest number of future specialists, as shown by the number of candidates achieving the best results each year.
We are one of the largest teaching hospitals in Spain, with 150 accredited places in 46 specialisations. Degrees can be gained in medicine, pharmacy, psychology, chemistry, physics, and degrees and diplomas in nursing.
Our commitment to specialised healthcare training is backed by a long and established history of teaching; in 1968 we were among the first to implement the Resident Medical Intern (MIR) system.
We are part of the external teaching units for family medicine, community medicine and occupational medicine. Residents on these programmes complete one or two years with us. We also receive a high number of residents from all over Spain, who come to do specific clinical rotations with us.

How we are
structured
The organisation of the specialised healthcare training is carried out by the Teaching Committee, a collegiate body responsible for integrating residents’ training activities into the daily care activity in the hospital. This is an essential tool to guarantee quality and continuous improvement in our educational work.
